Spring Clean Your Heart

There is something about longer days, birds singing their songs, and being able to get out into the sunshine. It is good for our spirit, it is good for our hearts. It is a good time to get the dust out of our homes and a good time to let go of the old and make room for the new. It is a great time to care for ourselves and in turn we can care for others. We need to let go of grudges, resentments, and anger that holds us back from enjoying inner peace and more happiness in our lives. When we hold on to the old, revisit old wounds they keep us stuck. When we choose to let go of the old we make room for the new and open the door to endless possibilities that are waiting for us.

In a world where we can be anything, be kind to yourself and to others. In a world where we can be anything, be polite. Our world has become fast pace, no respect for ourselves let alone others. Take a breath before you lash out, because the spoken word or action is hard to take back. None of us know how long we will be on this earth so make the most of it. Starting today. Never underestimate the power of a smile. Be true to yourself and be genuine. Others see you as you really are. Be a person of integrity, doing what is right even when no one is looking. Remember that God is always with you in your good deeds and your failings. Walk the walk of a good person because at the end how you talk won’t matter. (Proverbs 28:6)(Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but he who makes his ways crooked will be found out). Walk with the Lord, even if you have to brush the dust off your shoes and go a different direction. He will lead you! We all wonder at times if we are on the right road. Why me Lord? Look inwardly and find your direction. He is but a breath away waiting to lift you up to a brighter light.

Look out your window, take a walk in the beautiful sunshine. Live like your life is important. It is to you, it is to others, and it is to God. Be receptive to unforeseen possibilities and remember to be ready at any moment to give up what you are for what you can and should be.

Go with God,

Rev. Walter Coy
